The Tim Everson Collection of Cut and Hammered Silver Farthings – Part 1.

This page was last updated on: January 5, 2009 11:26 AM

This is the largest and finest collection of such pieces to have come on the market for as long as I can remember. Tim’s scholarly research into each and every piece ensures authenticity. Many of the pieces are the finest available and quite a number are exceedingly rare, particularly the earliest cut Farthings and many others which will appear in Part 2 which will be added here shortly. All Tim’s cut farthings are included in this list. All coins listed come with original Tim Everson envelopes/tickets

Numismatic note : Early pennies were cut into halves and quarters and passed into currency as halfpennies and farthings. Those of Henry III are by far the commonest though some scarce mints and moneyers are included here. Where a legend appears thus HEN]RIC[VS REX III], it should be realised that the portion RIC is visible on the coin and all or part of the missing legend is included in brackets.
